Founded in 1945, Musica Viva is Australia’s oldest independent professional performing arts organisation. Based on the vision of violist Richard Goldner, it is the largest presenter of fine ensemble music in the world, presents over 2,000 concerts in Australian capital cities, regional communities and schools per year. Under the leadership of Carl Vine AO, the organisation is committed to live music and education performances of quality, diversity, challenge and joy.

Musica Viva Armidale began more than 40 years ago as part of the ABC Sydney Symphony country program. It is a volunteer association of passionate music supporters committed to presenting chamber music to Armidale audiences in association with the Musica Viva Australia CountryWide program.

NECOM (New England Conservatorium of Music) is a leading NSW regional conservatorium supported by the NSW Department of Education. It presents a substantial range of non-tertiary music education programs and professional concerts to the wider community each year. In 2016, NECOM joins Musica Viva Armidale to assist in the presentation of the Concert Series, including marketing and ticket sales.
